"Fitness isn't a seasonal hobby, fitness is a lifestyle"

Exercise makes us Feel Better, give us More Energy and Makes us More Productive too!

Here are 4 quick tips to maintain a healthy routine during Summer and vacation time ……..

  1. Make the most of the mornings. You may be at the mercy of your family (i.e. family visits, meals/days out etc.) for a lot of your trip, so getting up before the rest of your party will create a lot more room in your day before you have to get on somebody else's schedule. Get up early and get the workout in before the family breakfast.

  2. Shorten your workouts to 30-45 minutes. Keep it quick, put the phone away and just get it done at a high intensity.

  3. Treat the vacation period like a break from regular gym routine. Get outdoors and do stuff!! Get into the elements, a day after you have one of your sessions go for a swim or a spa day if there’s one around and use those as your treat for muscle recovery! See the workout day as a positive as the following day you can treat yourself to recover. Go climb hills, or to the beach and try different experiences!

  4. Take the pressure off yourself. You don't have to have the greatest workout in the world! But it is very important to keep positive habits going. It's much harder to get back to a healthy routine when we get home if we decide to stop exercising while on vacation. You have learned a ton this past couple of months on both nutrition and exercise. Use what you have learned and practice a healthy lifestyle to stay on track!
